Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the air outside. This can then be channelled to heat radiators, underfloor heating systems or warm air convectors along in your home. Heat is extracted from outside the same way a fridge extracts heat from inside. Air sourced heat pumps have some impact on the environment as they need electricity to run, but the heat they extract from the ground, air and even water is constantly being renewed organically.

Air sourced pumps operate when heat is absorbed from a low temperature and converted into fluid. The fluid then passes through a compressor where the temperature is increased, transferred to a higher temperature, and this heat will be generated and will be circulating the house and water internally.

Using heat pumps enables savings, such as on your fuel costs. However, this is dependent on the system that you use now as well as what you will be replacing the system with.
